Five Question Friday - Thanks Erin!!!!

I love blogs - LOVE THEM. I enjoy reading whats going on in other people's lives, learning about different ways to use a recipes, and seeing pictures of my friends families as they grow.

Today, one of my friends posted a "Five Questions Friday" post. I enjoyed it so much, I thought I'd steal the idea...And the questions!

Here it goes:

1) If you could buy any car, money not an option, what would it be?

If money was no object for the car, then surely it wouldn't be for the gas either, right? In that case I want my same car only brand new! I'd love to have a fully loaded, white Suburban. That would just make my day!

2) What was your worst first date ever?

It wasn't horrible, but very awkward. I went out with this guy that my roommate gave my number to. He was in an ag club we were in at Purdue. He was super nice, but I think tried too hard. I hate to be mean and put that date at the worst first date ever...But it was definitely one that did not result in a second date......

3) How old were you when you fell in love for the first time?

Wow- that's a deep one. I was 16 years old. I was so crazy about this boy. As the Taylor Swift song says "Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you, you're gonna believe them." It didn't end well, but I learned a lot from it and don't regret dating him.

4) When was the last time you reconciled your checkbook?

This is horrible, but its been a while. I know I shouldn't depend on the Internet to do my figuring for me....But I do....Shame on me......

5) If you were going to fashion a "Wanted" ad for a best friend, how would you word it?

WANTED: Best Friend. Must love animals, be able to discuss farming topics, and enjoy shopping for new Vera Bradley purses. Sense of humor and texting ability required Outgoing personality, preferred.

Ha ha - Well I hope you enjoyed my Five Question Friday!

Have a great weekend!

Bath Time for.....Mickey?

At our family outing to the Children's Museum this past weekend, Maddie showed her dad and I just how much she LOVES playing in water (what child doesn't, right?) With her approaching her second birthday, I figured she's old enough now to play in some water without having mommy right there telling her what to do and how to do it. (I mean, she is almost 2 for pity sakes!) So I made a bowl of soapy water and asked her if she'd like to give her toys "a bath". With no surprise she wanted to. I was impressed, however, how gently she "washed" and each of her toys. She would pull one out and wipe it off with the hand towel I gave her, then set it aside on the floor. After she "bathed" all of them, she would start all over again. She didn't even end up soaked - like I assumed she would! What a smart little girl, don't you think???

A Day Out with Mommy and Daddy

Very rarely do Marc and I have a day off together. Even on weekends, Marc works at home and around the farm. So, when we usually take Madelyn anywhere its usually with a group of family members - which we love. I completely believe a child should be surrounded by those that love him/her. However, its also nice to have a day now and then with just mommy and daddy! Friday was our day!

Friday Marc had the day off for Good Friday. I went to work wishing I was hanging out at home with my hubby and the little bug. Around 11:00 Marc called and we decided that maybe I would just take the rest of the day off and we would take Maddie to the Children's Museum. What a plan! And she LOVED it!

Maddie and Dolly were ready to go!

Arggg - What Say Ye Pirate?

Pirates are all the rage right now! Why be a princess if you can be a pirate??? Madelyn likes to act like a pirate these days. We have a CD with Mickey Mouse signing about how pirates say "yo ho" and to her that's the greatest! Also, the Disney Channel also introduced a new preschool show called "Jake and the Never land Pirates". While I have still yet to see it, I've heard she's seen bits and pieces of it with her cousin and loved it!

As you can somewhat see in the video clip, when you ask her what a pirate says she closes one eye and says "ho ho" (her version of yo ho!) She also will occasionally say "argg". She's the cutest little girl -I mean pirate- in world!

Calling all Eggs!

This Sunday was Madelyn's FIRST Easter Egg Hunt!

Every year Nucor Steel sponsors an egg hunt for the community. Last year Maddie was too young to participate. This year, however, she was ready to go! It's held at the Lane Place in Crawfordsville. It's a very pretty setting and offers a lot of room for the different age groups that were ready to hunt! The weather wasn't the 78 degree weather we had the previous weekend here. But then again, it is Indiana so you can't expect the weather to stay the same for two weekends in a row!

After picking up the first few eggs, the little bug found a couple of bouncy balls and was done....She didn't want to mess with the eggs when she had all she ever wanted! Ha ha! Mom did push her a little bit, though. I mean, think of all the free crayons, stickers, and hardened candy (that will have to be thrown out) we were missing! :) Besides, one of the eggs in each section held a magic ticket to get a little bike! Needless to say, we didn't stumble onto that egg. Next year, though, I'm holding out high hopes....

Maddie also got to meet the Easter Bunny for the first time. I got to say, he's no Mickey Mouse in that little girls eyes. I'm so glad that Abby was there to help bridge the gap between the big white hare and my baby girl!

I hope you enjoy the pictures!
