What a Pane! (Window Pane that is!)

This weekend we got another opportunity to go watch my niece play ball. She did really well at this game. She got a really good hit without the help of the t stand! Those kids are so much fun to watch!

As is our new game time tradition, we stopped for lunch at Culver's afterwards. As we sat there, Marc and I discussed what to do with the rest of the afternoon. Do we go home and weed? No, that's been done. Do we go home and watch the Borne series all in a row? No, we'd end up feeling bad about wasting a wonderfully nice afternoon outdoors. What should we do then? How about replace that window that's been sitting in the garage since last September?! :)

As you might have seen from previous posts, we're still working hard at remodeling our home. It needs a lot of TLC and we've been chipping away at it for the last four years (yes - we've owned our house for 4 years now....Man, time flies!) You may have remember the window in question:

Not the best pictures, but you get the idea. Below are pictures of the work that went into getting one step closer to where we want to be with our home!

Trim now needs to be put up and more on the oustide of the house to get it ready for painters. Each project we complete is a step closer! Marc does a fantastic job at doing things around the house - especially since many of the things he's never done before! (Like cut into the side of a house and replace aluminum siding to perfectly frame a new window!) If it makes him neverous to take on new projects - he sure doesn't show it! I'm lucky to have him!

PS - the Little Bug slept through this entire process! How lucky are we to have such a great sleeper!

Sand Time!

Check out the pictures of my little bug's first time in her very own sandbox!

Two Green Thumbs Way Up!

This last week we were finally able to plant our garden - YAY! Red and yellow onions, tomatoes, zucchini, all types of peppers, green beans, sugar snap peas, and an egg plant. I can't wait. Now to just maintain the motivation to maintain the garden. I don't mind weeding, its the spiders I dislike! :) But its so worth it when we can eat fresh veggies and still have plenty to put up for the rest of the year!

Maddie played in her sandbox for the first half of the planting, but then decided to help. She is a great onion planter. I imagine we'll find onions EVERYWHERE in our garden! Lol- but that's alright by me!

Five Question Friday

1. Do you and your spouse go to bed at the same time?

Usually....But since planting is in full swing, not really lately. I try to stay up, but usually end up falling asleep before he gets home!

2. A question for the ladies...What kind of facial hair do you like on your man?

My hubby's face looks good either way, I think! :)

3. What's the worst vacation you've ever taken?

I don't think there has been a bad vacation for me, but things during different trips that have been bad! Like the idiot (that's me) that buys new shoes to wear on her honeymoon to look cute - then makes her new husband sit with her on the monorail as she bandages her feet up! Or when we drove to Kansas with an eleven month old child in a rear facing seat...Talk about a long drive. Or the family trip we took where Marc and my luggage was the only one that didn't show up until the day after we arrived; and then I got a rash on the back of my knee (you know, where you sweat in the hot Florida heat!) Never bad trips - because all of them were wonderful - just a few glitches that I could have done without!

4. What's the first-ever blog you followed?

My sister started a blog when her daughter was a baby. I started reading a few then, and gradually became addicted!

5. Do you enjoy amusement parks?

LOVE THEM! LOVE THEM! LOVE THEM! I'm a roller coaster girl! The bigger the drop, the faster the speed - the better. Now - having said that...I don't have to make a trip to one all the time. I enjoy Kings Island now and then and who doesn't love the swimming at Holiday World? BUT - though its not technically an amusement park - the rides at Disney World beat ALL! Hands down! No questions! I'd live there if I could! Their rides aren't all fast, but they all have a story line - and I love that!

A Party for Madelyn

Sunday, May 15th, we celebrated Madelyn's 2nd birthday with family. It was a cold and drizzly type of day out, but inside the house was filled with laughter and love. Maddie had a great time opening up her gifts. She received so many new toys and outfits! She is one lucky little girl. And we are a very blessed household - to have all the generous and kind people in our family!!!

Enjoy the pictures!
