Opening Gifts!

Remember that big package the Little Bug was opening in the last post? Well, once she got the box open she saw inside the box was more smaller presents to open! She was so excited that she got to unwrap more! I tried to capture as much as I could on film. Enjoy!

Roberts Family Christmas

Growing up, the worst part of Christmas was when it was over with. Sadly, I'm still that same kid just now trapped in an adult body! I'm still so sad when it goes by so fast. BUT the good news is that as you get older, families get bigger - which means you get to spread out the festivities more! YAY! I have some friends who celebrate Christmas with family and friends three or four weekends of the month of December! How fun would that be! (Though a lot of work baking and getting ready during the week - but totally worth it!)

Well my family of three (soon to be four) get to celebrate four times this year. (Once with the Roberts family, then with the Carter family, then at our own home, then with my grandparents in their home.) This weekend started off our festivities with our northern family.

We had a great time (minus the MUCH later start than anticipated, followed by my never ending back pain I was having! Ugh!) We always enjoy our visits to Marc's folks and look forward to our next trip!

Enjoy the pictures! I'll try to add some descriptions underneath.

Maddie winding up her new tic toc!

Maddie starting it off with the first gift! Video of this gift to follow in the next post!

She was so excited to open her little dolls!

She was doing a great time multi tasking - saying "open it daddy!" while unwrapping her next gift! Ha ha!

She still wasn't sure what it was....But boy oh boy was she excited when she found out it was her new doll house!

Mommy was excited too - so I had to help her unwrap it faster!

Enjoying playing with her new toys after her nap. Grandpa did a great job playing dolls with her!

Trying to get a picture with a two year old who has a cookie in her hand is near impossible! Oh well - she's cute no matter how she's posed!

Opening her stocking that evening. First thing she pulls out - whistles! Her favorite!

And she had no hesitation with what she was suppose to do with that thing! Princesses always know!

Trying out her new toy!

"Blow daddy!" Ha ha - so cute!

"Reading" her new book!

We went to see the lights in Warsaw later that evening. Maddie wanted to wave like Frosty and her daddy was more than happy to oblige!

A Trip for A Tree

Last week was a busy one, as seems to be the norm for this time of year! But despite the busy schedules, my sister and her family, parents, and my little family were able to steal an evening away together to go and get a Christmas tree. I know, I know, you're thinking, just last week? Well we put up an artificial tree right after Thanksgiving and get a dug tree that we can not only enjoy in our home during the holidays, but we can enjoy in the yard the rest of the years!

Below are our pictures from our trip! Enjoy!

Grandkids posing with Ma and Pa

Eric's first tree hunting experience

Our tree has been selected! Hope its not too big! Ha ha!

Helping daddy!

Posing with Mommy! (Picture taken by Abby - She did a great job!)

Maddie had to take a picture since Abby did - I think this is a good family pic too!

The trees we picked were so large.... As you can see, my dad really struggled - ha ha!

Watching them cut a Christmas tree for the Saylers!

Baking Cookies for Santa

Last week, Maddie and I decided that it was time to bake some cookies for Santa. And not the cookies I've already baked. Because, while who doesn't love a good chocolate chip cookie (and I have over 6 1/2 doz in my freezer waiting for the holidays), Santa deserves some more festive cookies.

I've never bought pre-made sugar cookie dough, but that's what we always used with my grandma, so I decided to give it a whirl. Below you can see that I had great help! The Little Bug was all over helping me with the flour and even more into helping decorate!

I hope you enjoy the pictures and getting ready for your CHRISTmas season!!!!

Disney Vacation Pictures

Things have been sooo busy around here since we got back from our trip to Florida. I apologize for not posting more sooner.

I have a quick minute to get some pictures uploaded. I'm just going to post some highlights. Feel free to check out Facebook for more!
First Night at the Resort.

Eating at Planet Hollywood

My sister and I decided to "build our own treat" at Goofy Candy Co. The one the gal is making right now is mine.

The finished product. And I assure you, it was just as good if not better than it looks!

My princess!

This is a cool story I think. We had the ultra sound that determines the gender the week before we left for our trip. Instead of them telling me what the baby was, we had the tech print off a picture and put it in an envelope. The first morning on our vacation was to be spent dining with Cinderella at her castle. My parents and sister had no idea that I had brought the envelope with me. They thought it would be opened at Christmas. Once seated in the castle, I excused myself to go to the restroom (pregnant girls do that often, you know) I handed the envelope to a cast member and quickly explained what it was. I went back to the table and our food was served. As a family we bowed to say a prayer before we started eating. Right after our prayer a cast member came out and said "I noticed you just got done saying your blessings. I think I might have another one for you." With that she sat down a white platter with a platter cover (not sure what those are called but it was elegant looking!) I pulled the lid off and revealed that we're having a little girl!!!!!! My mom and sister cried, my dad I don't think knew what to say, Marc looked relieved that we finally found out (the anticipation was killing us), and I, like Marc, was just thrilled to finally know what we're having!

As much as she loved meeting the princesses, she loved the mangoes there better. Two years in a row those things have won over the princesses!

Getting ready to drive a boat!

Right before the Hoop Dee Doo Review. Awesome dinner show!

The next morning (Happy birthday Mom!) at Chef Mickey's

Meeting the head chef!

Getting ready to watch the Play House Disney Puppet Show

Osborn Lights

Looking at the fish in the huge tanks!

The best restaurant that we ate at this time was Le Cellier! It was super tasty. We haven't missed going once - making this my 7th time (5 times with Marc!)

Enjoying the marshmallow from Aunt Casie's dessert

Teppan Etto Japanese Restaurant

Cheese!

Enjoying a special gift from our chef

Beautiful fireworks!
This was only three days of highlights from Disney. There are soooo many more pictures. I think between my sister, me, and the pictures we bought from Disney on a CD there were close to 1600 pictures. I know I'm leaving so many out. I plan to post more from day 4 and on next time. Hope you enjoyed the pictures I posted today!
