Baby's Room - Update!

I have been dying to complete the baby's room. Marc and I have, however, been putting off the task until the new windows we ordered arrived. No sense in getting things all ready just to have them messed up again. Home Depot finally called us (4 days past when the windows were suppose to arrive!) to let us know the order had finally come in. Though I have all the faith in the world in my husband and his handy-man abilities, I sure am glad my dad and brother-in-law were around to help lighten the load. Here are some pictures of the windows being replaced! (Even Flat Stanely joined in the fun!)

Also on the list of things to do for the baby's room was to have our families leave their mark so the baby would know it was growing up with the best family in the world. When we found out my sister and her husband were able to come home, we knew we had to have things ready so they would be able to be a part of the decorating. We had a dinner with the Carter side (we squeezed it in since Casie and Brian had a full schedule lined up of people they were going to see before heading back to Colorado) and let the fun begin!

Here are some pictures of the hand prints and the special guests who were able to join us! We look forward to the Roberts side getting to do the same thing! And hopefully there will be just enough space left for the rest of the family members who can make it!

Also, we were able to put down an area rug. Ideally we would have carpeted, but given time and money, we did what we could. I think it turned out nice! What do you think?

I miss Mayberry......

Marc and I rode along one Saturday with my parents to an auction. After seeing the auction, we visited a couple stores and quickly decided it was about time for lunch. Deciding where to eat with my family is always a pain, as we are all such decisive people! Heading back we decided to stop in Danville to dine at the Mayberry Cafe, an experience Marc has never had! The entire restaurant is decorated in an Andy Griffith Show theme, including televisions set up all around to continuously play episodes of the show. Here are some memorable moments from the trip!

New Baby Pictures!

Hello all! Not much to report lately. I do, however, have the newest pictures to share from our last ultra sound on February 20th. In these pictures, the baby is 28 weeks old! Hard to believe!

The tiny legs and feet! Giving a side profile! This last one you can see the front part of the face!
My last appointment was very eventful. We were glad that my sis and niece were able to join us, along with my parents. Abby was really excited about seeing her baby cousin on the TV. (She also commented to her mommy about how big my tummy was...Ha ha).

The ultra sound tech said that the baby already had hair growing on it...Isn't that amazing! We also were able to see the baby drinking in fluids. It was the neatest thing I have seen. It was cute to see the baby yawn several times and suck on his/her hand. Nothing will ever replace those moments to me!

Besides witnessing the unbelievable growth of the baby, I did experience a few new things that I had never had before. First, they had a trainee in the room. After they took the measurements they needed, they allowed her practice taking measurements on me. They said that my baby was a perfect one to practice on since it always lies where it was easy to view.

The second "new experience" came as the tech in training was taking her measurements...I just started to feel sick and asked Marc to get me a drink of water. The next thing I remember is leaning up against my dad and running to the sink to....well, let’s just say my stomach was swimming. I later found out that there is truth to not laying on your back for too long when you’re pregnant. Apparently the weight of the baby was cutting off my blood supply--leading to me almost passing out! After laying down for a while (on my side this time) and having a cold wash cloth on my face, I was back to normal...Well, almost....The color did take a while to come back, but hey--that’s what makeup is for! Next time we'll put a few pillows under my legs to prevent that from happening again!

I have attached a brief video clip from the ultra sound. In the clip, the baby yawns a couple of times. It's not the clearest, however. I had to video my TV playing the tape. Ha ha...maybe one day I'll be able to figure out this technology stuff!!! I hope that it’s clear enough for you to see a little glimpse of why Marc and I have fallen in love with a baby who isn't even born yet!
